Subject: Hey, Jack

what a waste of taxpayer money

I signed papers for a student loan 20 years ago, and I remember that if I
got disabled, the loan would be discharged.

2006....... I fill out the disability paperwork,,,, been asking them to send
it to me since 2003

today, after sending THREE copies to TWO collection agencies, and finally a
set directly to greenville, TX............ along with the usual reference to
section 207 of the Social Security regs, which says SSI payments cannot be
levied or garnished..... I get a letter saying that Federal Student Aid
CAN take 15% of Social Security.... 31 USC 3716(c)(3)(A)

then it gets abso-FREAKING-lutely ridiculous........ because the amount
offset may not reduce the payment to less than $750 a month.

uh.............. I didn't know that.....

and uhh....... don't these GENIUSES know that since I referred to the fact
that I get SSI..... that payment is only $623 a month????????

what the hell is wrong with government employees?

what do I need to do to head this off? they want something by Sept 12.
