I have been in my SSD since 2005. going to a 2nd hearing next week. you
say
you applied in 2006 thats not bad since Iam still in the waiting since
2005. =A0 if you know others who has been waiting for ssd for 6 yrs that
would could be that they maybe stoped working and went back to work
which only makes your claim longer to get thru the process.. unless
there is another reason for a 6 yr wait. seems to me 6 yrs is a long
time to go. and absurd.
I wish you the best of luck in your SSD wait. others have waited much
longer like my self.

I applied in June of 2006. I am still waiting. I have been denied twice
and am now up for an ALJ hearing. I was told about the hearing in May
2007 but have heard nothing since. From what I can tell and have been
told it usually takes 2 to 3 years. I know some people who were at it
for 6 years or more before they finally got their award letter. It seem
to vary greatly from person to person.

Yes Gina, you certianly have been going through the process for quite
some time.
Still, hang in there and keep hope alive.
