In the absence of anything in the media concerning
17 Sept being the date for CPS disclosing all "evidence"
to the defence.
Honourable process in India, I wonder
if the Sun newspaper will report where their

School in Hannah's memory
20 Sep 2007, 0258 hrs IST,TNN

DARJEELING: Hannah Foster's parents are yet to get justice, more than four
years after she was brutally murdered in Southampton, but her memory will
live on in the Darjeeling Hills. The informer who got her suspected killer
arrested in Kalimpong has used all his reward money to build an English
medium school in Hannah's name.

Jason Lepcha, who received Rs lakh for giving information on the
whereabouts of Manindar Pal Singh Kohli, did not want to spend the money on
himself. "Now I feel satisfied that the money has been utilised in a good
cause," Lepcha told TOI. His initiative so moved two British residents that
they have pitched in with funds for books and teachers' salaries.

The school, named 'Hannah Memorial Academy', has come up in a pretty little
spot in the Dhotrey tea garden, 30 km from Darjeeling. Education is free
till Class IV. The school even supplies the 67 students free books and
uniforms.

"Many garden workers cannot afford to send their children to an English
medium school. I was wondering what to do with the reward money. Since my
grandfather owned a plot in Dhotrey tea garden, I decided to use the land
and the money to open a school that will help families who want to give
their children good education but cannot afford it," said Lepcha. ...
