Nothing new here; they've been flooding New York City for about two decades
now, without a peep from many that oppose the immigration of non-whites and
are now up in arms over the present Mexican and middle-eastern influx. One
such bigot once told me - "but they're Jewish, they're saving the
neighborhood." The meaning of this was of course that they are WHITE, and
therefore preferable as local residents to the blacks and hispanics that
would supposedly ruin the neighborhood. Landlords welcomed them as an excuse
to deny apartments to non-whites, and because they had relatively little
knowledge of the housing laws and thus could be easily overcharged and
cheated.

The theory of course is that these Russians are your stereotypical educated
Jewish professionals that would be productive and law-abiding citizens. Some
are, but some are clearly not.

The result of their unchecked immigration? South Brooklyn, once the capital
of Italian organized crime, is now the capital of the Russian Mob. Brighton
Beach is their stronghold. They are not the sort likely to mug you for drug
money, but are aces in identity theft and Internet fraud - and they alone
know what else.
