Initial decisions average months.

You mention SSDI. SSI has presumptive disability decisions that are
expedited but PD does not extend to SSDI. However, there are TERI
cases.

SSA has prepared a regulation to expand this process nationwide, but
it has not been finalized. They are receiving public comments on the
reg.

Other than that, you can allege "dire need" but these are often not
processed any faster than the regular process.
