Wouldn't that go for runners as well?

I used to see runners by themselves a lot. I think the majority still
run solo -- but more and more I'm seeing these groups...and I don't
mean the varsity track and field, either.

Nothing beats them Army runs, though. Sometimes whole battalions, the
whole post...wow! Really make 'em woods echo with song. And it's
real fun. No race at all -- but running at a good pace, hollering to
cadence, and finishing the run. It's probably the one thing I really
truly miss.

I wonder if it'd be possible to organize a runners' group based on
Army ., not for speed but no slouching either, with cadence, in
step...I wonder if that's the next step in the "evolution" of these
runners' clubs, organizing around certain themes.
