Michelle, most of us if not all of us have lost everything because of
our disabilities. Everything. You are worried about your house? Well
guess what..I lost mine..along with my car and basically every
material item I owned along with my wife and my kids. Like Mike, my
wife took a hike when I became ill and couldnt provide her the
lifestyle she once had. I now live on exactly 10% of what my previous
earnings were. My retirement is gone (401K etc), my savings are gone,
I owe approximately $300,000 in medical bills (the 2 year wait for
medicare).
I can honestly say the only thing I still own that I owned in the year
2004 are SOME of my clothes. I say some because I got so ill and lost
so much weight, none of the stuff I owned then even remotely fits me.
I went from a 5 bedroom house, luxury car, awesome career and a family
to a one bedroom crap apartment and being alone and trying to manage
my illness with little or no help for anyone.
I could turn your statement around and say "If you were actually as
ill as some of us, you would have been approved by now". It took me 4
months to be approved because I am THAT sick.
Ya, your statement is egregious and certainly passive agressive. And
bullshit. You have no idea what people here have been through.
