I am not exceeding a police officer's authority if I park *anywhere* at
his direction. If one is in sight, I will go and ask them. Not one has
ever said no, usually with the addition of "5 minutes,OK?".

So a badge holder, who has had the badge stolen, should be happy to
manouevure her Zimmer frame the length of the car park? Or should the
traffic warden/police officer/parking warden show a bit of human
compassion and allow them to use a bay, without it?

I simply believe that individual need transcends officialdom. Strangely
enough, that particular mother would be one of the first to agree with
me that someone in a wheelchair deserves a *bit* of sympathy, even if
only there temporarily.
