I do appreciate all the responses I received. I have seriously
considered appealing the decision to end my General Financial
Assistance but have been told by my caseworker that it will most
likely do NO good. I still may do it though. Maybe if enough
disabled people complain, they will rework that program. I did
download and print out the form to start the appeal
The Community Action Program is bringing my rent current. Thank
goodness! I still have my home (apartment) where I have lived for the
last 16 1/2 years. I do receive foodstamps and PCN which is a state
insurance that is better than no insurance at all. I can get my
prescibed meds for a $5 co-pay and doctor visits are a $5 co-pay
also. So it does help. The only flaw in that one is one is only
allowed 4 prescriptions per month and I have 8! I have used the
Walmart Pharmacy $4 match price at my pharmacy for the meds that
qualify. That helps a lot too. Wish they all would qualify for the
$4 match price!
Just curious if anyone has any other suggestions on financial
resources I might check into? Any help is very much appreciated.
Wishing you all the best day you can have!
